I’m heading to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico in 10 days. Don’t be jealous. It doesn’t suit you and isn’t very yogi of you. I am very excited on many levels. I have noticed recently that overall, I’m an excited person. I’ll be visiting Mexico for the first time though. I’m taking this trip with 30 friends and colleagues from MINDBODY. It’s the first vacation like trip I’m taking in a long time, I’m often traveling to visit family or for work events. I will be bringing lots of sun screen, a trashy novel or two, my bikini, and my yoga mat…what else does a girl really need on vacation? I’m seriously, seriously, super seriously, looking forward to leaving my laptop and phone off the entire trip. How long has it been since I’ve been off the internet-technology grid? Sadly, a very long time.

Things that are on my mind this week. Trust. Relationships. Drama. Space. Jason Crandell. Hangovers. Karma. More on all of these things later from my couch :)

Wasn’t Jason good ? Even though I don’t agree that only slow yoga is good yoga, he did a great job regardless :P

I’m jealous anyway (bad, bad yogi !). I went to PV a long time ago. The cobblestone streets were neat. The town market is (was, at least) very third-world and fun to explore (lots of stalls, with hanging meat, coffee beans, and crafts, as I recall). There were some wonderful, quaint, small, authentic places to eat there (you better like goat cheese). Also, lots of kids with their shirts tucked in trying to sell you timeshares. Oh, and as I recall, lots of hot babes in bikinis, slathered in oil (there might have been a guy or two – I don’t remember).

Um, also, I got painfully sick, once home, from drinking one glass of tap water over ice there. -Beware-. Watch out, even when brushing your teeth or eating fresh fruit ..

Suggestions:
- Anti-diarrhea/anti-Giardia pills.
- Maybe bring some aloe gel w/lidocain (bring lots, you’ll be very popular).
- Anti-hangover medicine (those fiz tablets w/B-vitamins, aspirin, and salts you take with a quart of water when you go to bed)

Thanks for the info, Steve! I will definitely stock up on the supplies you mention for my Mexico trip. I have a sensitive belly too.

The Jason Crandell workshop was great! I really enjoyed the classes and was happy that I was able to push myself without hurting myself (which is a typical issue of mine). I look forward to trying other teachers Lisa brings to the studio. See you on the mat this week! (hopefully)
